I need to edit a project (more specifically I need to cut down a few minutes) where I used the subtitle feature to add comments on top of some of the clips and of course I need to somehow also ripple the subtitles when deleting/trimming an existing clip.
So, my suggestion is to add a new button next to the other ripple buttons of the timeline (or add an option inside the subtitle panel if the timeline bar is too crowded) that toggles subtitle ripple.
I did not know multi select worked that way on the subs, thanks, that will be a better workaround than what I had in mind (was thinking of using the Subtitle Edit application to sync externally).
I really don’t see your point here, the same can be said by Ripple all tracks mode, you can ruin the clip on another track if you are not careful, and it is very difficult to notice the difference if you don’t pay attention.
The subtitles also have a nice panel with individual line duration and you can clearly notice if something is very short and/or duplicated and fix it manually. And if it defaults to being off, I see no downside to the option existing, while at the same time not having the option involves quite a laborious workaround.
