Mp4 at 23.98fps, opens in shotcut at 60

I’ve loaded dozens of mp4’s into shotcut, all 24fps (in Windows’ properties they say 23.98). About half of them were mov’'s that I converted to mp4 using shotcut, clicking export/export file/save, without making any changes to the defaults.

Occasionally, and it seems random, I’ll open one and when I start working on it I notice the last part of the time counter counting to 60 instead of 24. I’ve fixed a couple of these by copying and pasting parts of the mlt/xml file (from one of the mlt’s that uses 24), but it’s pretty tedious/painful.

Any alternatives? Suggestions for what might be causing it? I cut a lot of clips to partial seconds, and it’s tough switching back and forth between base 24 and base 60.

Thanks for any help!
