Problem with audio
As soon as I overlay a track on the main track, the sound becomes choppy and full of crackles. The same goes for transitions and playback slows down.
I have had this problem before.
Is there a way to fix this?

No. It is a common problem. Which is why we have Proxy Editing and Preview Scaling. If you still have preview problems after enabling those features, then your computer is just not powerful enough for the project you are trying to make.
Beyond proxy and preview features, you can choose to overlook the preview performance and check the quality of the export output.

I simply point out that I use proxies and the reduced preview and that this audio problem occurs on both my old PC and the new one which still has 32 gigas of RAM!!!
I have also tested with other editing software and I have never encountered this problem.
It is a pity that there is no solution.
Finally, the audio is normal in the exported file.
Thanks again to the developers. I like Shotcut which I have been using for many years.
