when using Crop: Source filter on a source video, cutting it into clips and making transitions between each/some of them on the timeline makes filter doesn’t work.
What it looks like: …clip[crop ok]-transition[crop ok]-clip[crop ok]-transition[crop NOT ok]-clip[crop ok]…
The bad news: it is not consistent, it’s not for ALL transitions created, it’s happened usually when reopening the project and also exit/restart Shotcut, like working on a project, save, close, later opening Shotcut back, load project and continue working on it.

I will offer a first attempt to answer. Be aware that a) I am far from the expert that others on this forum are, and b) I may not be understanding your question correctly. Thus, I ask in advance for forgiveness if I am off-track with this answer.
I think that maybe you have applied the crop filter to a video segment; then you have split that segment; then you have dragged the second segment so that it creates a transition. Is that correct?
In my testing of the scenario that I just described, it looks like Shotcut duplicates the filters applied to the original segment when it splits, so that both segments have the same filters applied. But at this point, there are now two different sets of filters, applied to two different segments.
A couple of things that I have done that maybe you are experiencing: 1) If you are attempting to change something about one of the filters, you may be expecting it to be changed across all of the video segments … but no, it will only apply to the filter for the selected video segment. 2) Adding to my confusion at times, the selected video segment is not necessarily the one where the playhead is positioned, and thus when I make changes to the filter, it appears to have no effect on the screen - because the changes are happening to a segment that is not showing at the moment.
If #1 above is the case, one approach that might resolve the issue is to apply the filter to the track rather than to a video clip. To do this, select the area with the track information on the left side of the timeline, and then apply the filter. This will cause the filter to be applied to every clip on that track. Note that you can also apply a filter to the entire output - click on the word Output just above the track information area, and then add the desired filter(s). This will apply the filter(s) to the whole video rather than to any individual track or segment.
Once again, I apologize if I am answering the wrong question … and if I have made a mistake in what I have said, I am counting on other forum members to let us both know!
