Hi, I’m preparing a video with an introduction and then the content. I wanted to know if it’s possible, and how, to add a button to the video that allows me to skip the introduction and go directly to the content. Thanks.
Nope, this is outside the scope of a video editor. But when you upload a video to wherever, they might allow creating bookmarks/chapters to jump to specific places (e.g. YouTube).
While you cannot put a button in video and there is no common standard for interactive video, you can create chapter points in Shotcut. The help topic below explains markers and chapters, in particular see File > Export > Markers as Chapters. This assumes that whatever you are doing with the video supports chapters such as YouTube. Many media players support chapters embedded chapters, but we do not have that yet in Shotcut. It is on the road map. Handbrake can do it if you want to export something in Shotcut with very high quality in order to do final encode in Handbrake.
You can add chapter if youtube video or add on title or description to audience know the subjects and time …
