Another common use case is to remove black bars on the sides, for example 4:3 in a 16:9 video. You need to first get rid of them by overriding Properties > Aspect ratio to stretch it to fill the screen. However, that stretches it uniformly. With Elastic Scale you can prioritize the center of the 4:3 image and stretch the sides.
