Shotcut Challenge: Circular progress bar

Thanks, @elusien. I just tried it. Very Jazzy!

Brilliant. Very well explained. I missed Kamigeek’s thread last year - too busy for various reasons. It is amazing though how a filter designed for one purpose can be redefined to suit another one.

Thank you @jonray !

Oh! Then you probably missed all the little backward satanic messages I imbedded on the audio track :smiling_imp:

You’re absolutely right.
But since we covered that subject in the thread, I don’t think I’ll re-do the tutorial

Thank you @Elusien

Very true. And @Kamigeek was particularly good at finding these hidden gems.

@musicalbox, I was also thinking of this previous thread that involved the 360° equirectangular filter too. Might be useful for Forum members who missed it:

Don’t blame you - it would be a lot of work.

Voici mon fichier .mlt

Here’s my .mlt file
I replaced the image of Santa Claus with a gray color clip on V1.
Note the differences compared to the tutorial of @MusicalBox
I used the 360: Equirectangular to rectilinear filter instead of 360: Equirectangular to Stereographic. (I don’t have that one, or under another name)
I used the “Start Delay” setting of the “Timer” filter, so I don’t need the “transparent” clip with “plain text” at the beginning of V2
I added an opacity filter for the appearance of the stopwatch.
(Remove the .txt extension to open the file with Shotcut)

Punaise!

Darn! And it was right under my nose. I rarely use the Timer filter and never really noticed Start Delay.
Thanks for the info @Namna

Another detail that could have been useful in the tutorial is that in some cases the Unpremultiply Alpha filter can reduce, or even eliminate, dark spillover around the circle.

You can also use the “Simple Shape Mask” filter instead of “Crop Rectangle” to draw the horizontal line.
The “Smoothness” setting allows you to erase the defects of the outline.
(See my video in post 2. I replaced it with Crop: rectangle because my “Simple Mask” V20 filter is not recognized by the new versions)

I also tried it with the SPR filter. Works, too.
