Problem
Hi everyone,
I have a question about memory usage. I have seen a lot of threads about this already, but wanted to share my experience too.
Previously, I was using Shotcut with 16GB of RAM. Working with big projects usually consumed 80% of my RAM, but it was OK. The memory warning kept appearing multiple times, and I just clicked wait to ignore it.
Now, I added 16GB of RAM to my laptop. Today, I was working on a 60 minutes video. I was not doing a lot of editing, I was just cleaning the video. I was surprised to see that Shotcut is consuming 25GB of RAM.
It seems that it kept increasing slowly while working on the project. Restarting Shotcut helps release memory, but the memory usage will keep growing again while working on the project.

I am aware that this guide exist:
I am just curious about the memory usage and would like to know why it increases overtime.
