Quality of audio for comments

I like the possibility to comment on video clips directly in Shotcut, with just a USB microphone.

However, the result is always an opus file, but I don’t find any settings to change the quality of it.

I am using a mono microphone, but out comes always a stereo file.

Am I doing something wrong or is this just the way it is?

That is just the way it is currently. You either need to change the code or use a different approach or tool. There are many options.
