Sorry. But that isn’t supported. After you apply “Mask: Simple Shape”, you have to apply “Mask Apply” before you can start another mask.
Maybe I’m missing something, but something changed in the Mak: Simple behavior between the Shotcut version used in the post linked above by @haydenwong5ty and the new versions of Shotcut.
I agree something seems wrong here and not working as I expect.
Due to the fact that only 1 Mask: Apply filter can be used normally, a temporary workaround is to use the Obscure With Blur or saved filter sets (and delete the unnecessary filters if necessary).
That seems to work. I would also mention that instead of the operation “Add” for the second filter, now one needs to use “overwrite” for the second one as well.
So it should look like:
- Mask: Simple Shape (Operation: Overwrite)
- Blur: Exponential
- Mask: Apply
- Mask: Simple Shape (Operation: Overwrite)
- Blur: Exponential
- Mask: Apply
@SunnyWong That is correct as a workaround. The bug is that you should only need one Blur Exponential and Mask Apply with multiple Mask Simple Shapes that can join together, which is more efficient and convenient. A better workaround is to use Mask Draw when you need a more complicated shape than a single Mask Simple Shape provides.
This is fixed for the next version 25.06 or 25.07 TBD.
Also, there was a restriction to add multiple Mask: Apply filters to the same clip that I removed.
Thank you
