Linking Video to Audio After the Preparation

I prepared my first Shotcut video using such techniques as blending one video clip into the next. When I played back the exported video (not in MP4 format unfortunately) I found that the audio was not blended or cutoff when I blended the video. So for example, the audio track would be longer than the video track. As a result I would be listening to the audio clip from the end of the prior video clip.

Can I cure that by locking in the green box on the bottom left of the timeline area, or do I have to rework the entire timeline adjusting for the blending video areas with appropriate audio adjustments? If so, how?

Not sure if this helps, now that you’ve done your editing, but this topic suggests a workflow for your future projects.
