I wondered if any regulars would like a challenge?
I made a short text title featuring animated coloured gradient text. Two versions - 1) static and 2) zoomed:
My challenge would be for any interested forum member to recreate this, or something similar. How did I do it?
I’ve attached a zip file with 4 resource files:
Jugglers PNG background,
Jugglers MP4 background,
Circus intro music MP3 (short),
Font TTF file of the font I used (Showcard Gothic). Jugglers - resource files (Jon Ray challenge).zip (5.3 MB)
I did it 100% in Shotcut, with no other graphic editors or software.
No worries if there are no takers, I won’t be upset… just thought it might be fun for someone to try…
I’ll post a short tutorial of how I did it in a day or two…
Hi @austin, well I didn’t use Glaxinmate but if anyone would like to use it then I will allow it in the rules
(Maybe using Glax will be easier than what I did)…
Great, @namna!! A worthy winner!! (Actually anyone who does it is also a winner !!) Bravo . But now I’m in a bad position - because the way you did it was WAY simpler than the way I did it!! It took me about 30 minutes!! I’d love to see the MLT showing what you did but shall we wait until any others respond first?

Oui, attendons un peu. Pour l’instant ce que je peux dire : V1 - 1 filtre (Fade in) V2 - 3 filtres (je dirai lesquels plus tard) V3 - 2 filtres (je dirai lesquels plus tard)

I came up with this, which is no doubt easier to do than your methods @jonray@Namna. I didn’t have the patience to find the perfect solution. But I suspect I’m very close to @Namna’s method (thanks for the hints). I did use the joyful and peppy circus tune though. That must count for a least one point, no?
Je suis arrivé à ce résultat, qui est sans doute plus simple à réaliser que vos méthodes @jonray et @Namna. Je n’ai pas eu la patience de tenter de reproduire la vidéo originale. Je crois par contre que je suis très proche de votre méthode @Namna (merci pour les indices). J’ai tout de même utilisé la joyeuse musique de cirque. Ça doit compter pour au moins un point non ?
No filters on V1 (I added the fade-in, fade-out filters on the Output.
One filter on V2
3 filters on V3
Pas de filtre sur V1 (J’ai mis les fondues sur Output)
Another effective solution, @musicalbox. Bravo to you as well. It will be interesting to find out if the filters you and @namna used were identical.
Adjudication so far - points given to @namna for getting the colours right, although he speed of the stripe is slow…
Points given to @musicalbox for the sheer comedy value of seeing a vampire scene with jolly music (hilarious), although strictly that was breaking the rules…
Points deducted though to each of you for both spelling “Jugglers” incorrectly … LOL!!
So I think you are both neck and neck at the moment…

Autre solution efficace, @musicalbox. Bravo à toi aussi. Il sera intéressant de savoir si les filtres que vous et @namna avez utilisés étaient identiques.
Jugement jusqu’à présent - points attribués à @namna pour avoir obtenu les bonnes couleurs, bien que la vitesse de la bande soit lente…
Points attribués à @musicalbox pour la pure valeur comique de voir une scène de vampire avec une musique joyeuse (hilarante), même si strictement cela enfreignait les règles…
Points déduits cependant à chacun de vous pour l’orthographe incorrecte de “Jongleurs”… LOL !!
Je pense donc que vous êtes tous les deux au coude à coude en ce moment… Merci à vous deux d’avoir participé au challenge !
Puisque l’on parle de règle, il n’est pas spécifié les versions de Shotcut interdites. En utilisant une version précédente, avec tous ses filtres standards (sans filtres externes), il est possible de le faire encore de manière plus simple. Seulement 2 pistes vidéos 2 filtres sur V1 2 filtres sur V2 En bonus les dégradés peuvent être inclinés.
Since we are talking about a rule, it is not specified which versions of Shotcut are forbidden.
Using an earlier version, with all its standard filters (without external filters), it is possible to do it even easier.
Only 2 video tracks
2 filters on V1
2 filters on V2
As a bonus the gradients can be tilted.
Ce n’est pas juste, en réglant la langue sur Français, Shotcut traduit automatiquement en Français tous les titres des vidéos… De plus, sur votre original il y a une faute, vous avez mis Jongleur au pluriel alors qu’il n’y en a qu’un.
It’s not fair, by setting the language to French, Shotcut automatically translates all video titles into French…
Also, on your original there is a mistake, you put Juggler in the plural when there is only one.
So each of us loses and gains a point?

Gosh, when I post my tutorial on how I did it, people are going to laugh so much. Mine was a very long-winded solution. LOTS of exporting frames…

I was able to realize this effect only in glaxnimate. I still don’t understand how you did it without it, I’m probably not experienced enough yet, but it’s very easy to do in glaxnimate.
