I’m a beginner and I’m about to start creating and editing videos. After some extensive research, I’ve decided to start my editing with Shotcut! I have some heavy duty scars that I don’t want everyone focusing on. Are there any instructional videos on smoothing or overlaying effects that will help with my concerns. Thank You

I’m sorry to hear about your problem.
If you are more or less stationary in the videos, like a newsreader it is reasonably easy to do using the “Spot Remover” filter, though I’m not sure how effective it would be in your case.
If you are moving around quite a lot is is more difficult, but still doable. See the short tutorial I put together showing how to do this in the following post:
