How do I select area for Mute filter

I removed an unwanted part of my MP3 audio track using Split, but afterwards there is a small audible “chirp” at the timeline location where I removed the unwanted segment. I want to mute that chirp but don’t know how to select that removal area (which is a vertical line on the timeline), and then mute the chirp. Thanks!

You can set a Start point and and a End point to any filter.
In my example below I want to mute only the part of the audio between the 2 green markers.

It makes things easier if you arrange your layout to make both the Timeline and the Keyframes panel visible.
