Here are some steps that should work:
- Open your clip
- Open the “Properties” panel.
- In the Properties hamburger menu, choose “Extract Subtitles…” - save the extracted file
- Drag the clip to the timeline
- Make sure the timeline cursor is on the first frame
- Open the “Subtitles” panel
- In the Subtitles hamburger menu, choose “Import Subtitles From File”
- Choose the file you extracted in step #3
- In the Subtitles hamburger menu, choose “Burn in Subtitles on Output”. This will add a Burn-in filter on your Timeline Output
- Edit the burn-in filter paramters to suite your taste (color, position, etc)
- Export
