Error creating proxy file

Hi!
I transfer the file to the timeline and get an error creating proxy file.

Version:
shotcut-win64-241117.
windows 10 64bit ver 1607(14393)

The video file was shot on a Honor 200 Pro camera.
I am attaching his description and error text.

I understand that I need to update the version of Shortcut.

But newer versions Shortcut on my OS don’t start with an error:

The procedure entry point setthreaddescription could not be found in the qt6core.dll library.

It may be necessary to update the OS, but there are problems with this.

2025-10-22_093250 video file.txt (3.1 KB)

[graph -1 input from stream 0:0 @ 000001dcaf52b0c0] Invalid color space

But I don’t know how to fix it; ffmpeg says its color space is “reserved” which I think is due to a poorly made file. You will not be able to use proxy with this camera.

I was able to test it on another PC for comparison.
Windows 10 64-bit with the latest updates.
shotcut-win64-250816

On this PC, proxy files are created without errors.

Also, the problem isn’t with just one video file. It’s with all files from this camera.

On the startup error for a new version of Shotcut - I wonder if you are not getting the old version completely deleted before upgrading to the new - ?

Let me hasten to say that I really don’t know what I’m talking about here, as I use Linux almost exclusively - but something about what you described is ringing a faint bell.

The download and FAQ pages state:
(minimum Windows 10 version is build 1809 “October 2018 Update”)

You can update Windows 10, and you probably should while you still can.

Yes, I’m deleting it. But I use the portable version, which only requires unzipping the archive. So I don’t think that could be the problem.

To test, I tried installing the version with setup. This didn’t solve the startup problem (The procedure entry point setthreaddescription could not be found).

Yes. It looks like this is the only solution. Maybe you know a manual update option for windows, meaning downloading and installing the update yourself?

The update didn’t solve the problem.
The test on the new version only worked with one file.
All the others return the same error.
I’ve found a temporary solution:

  1. I add all the files to the shotcut list.
  2. I do a batch export.
  3. Then I open the resulting files, and proxy files are successfully created with them.

But this is very inconvenient.
If this method works, is there a way to configure proxy file creation?
