Cropped videos won't overlay

Hello! I seem to have a problem where I have part of a video that is cropped on V2 and a video I want to overlay it on on V1. However playing it only shows black surrounding what I’ve cropped instead of the video on V1. Here’s a picture of it…

I could’ve just made a silly oversight as I’m mostly new to shotcut and this is the first proper project I’ve done in it but hopefully someone better could help. Thanks!

If you want to overlay it, you have to set the padding colour to transparent. It is black as default. You can just change the alpha channel to 0, then it will show the background so the video on V1.
