I am using “Ausgewähltes zur Dia-Show hinzufügen” (Add selected to slide show?) to add both jpg and mp4 files. This works great for jpgs, but mp4 and other movies get shortened to the specified length for the slides.
Is there any way to keep the original length of the video in the slide show?
Up to now I am doing that manually and expand each video on the timeline. But this is cumbersome and error prone.
Any suggestions? Or is it possible to add an option in one of the next versions?
Thanks
Lothar
Basically, you need to increase the duration in the dialog to the maximum video duration you want. That will also affect pictures. Thus, it is not a good solution to mix video and pictures in the same slideshow, but you can make more than one slideshow in the same timeline.
“Thus, it is not a good solution to mix video and pictures” - That is your opinion. Why is it not a good solution? It fits me perfectly!
Yes, I know about increasing the duration, but as you note yourself, this affects the pictures also: not practical
Yes, I know about more than one slideshow in the timeline. But …
… all I want to do is, take pictures and (short) movies in the right order and produce a mixed video with as small an effort as possible.
Shotcut would fit the bill perfectly, if its slide show generator would NOT shorten embedded videos.
If you think this would be a bad solution for Shotcut, Perhaps you could point me at other software to do this.
Thanks
I will add an option to not apply duration to audio/video in the next version.
Thank you very much! This will be perfect!
Would it be possible to have two duration settings, one for stills (pictures), and one for videos? Perhaps if the latter is set to 0, that means “use the full length”?
It is coming as 2 durations with video having a default and maximum 4 hours.
