Copying Keyframes from one filter to a new one?

Heya, been trying to find a way to go about doing this for an edit I’m putting together. I’m wanting to copy the exact same Keyframes from Size, Position & Rotate and put them onto Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, etc. I really don’t want to go about redoing the exact same Keyframes from the filter if I’m able to copy/paste them. I understand they go off whatever the filter is, in such case is zoom, but if I could just place those Keyframe’s timings into a new filter and call it a day, that’d be awesome. Any info on this would be extremely helpful!

So, I believe that you’re not understanding what’s happening. I should explain it in simple ways,

Let’s say you have 2 ton car, which has a great super fast tuned engine that is 380kgs, and you have a 4kg bicycle, and you want that engine to work on your bicycle. Now sure that engine works damn good on the car, but you can’t simply just take it out and put on a bicycle and then casually use that engine to run your bicycle, you could only fit that engine to another similar car :skull:

Similarly, Size position and rotate hold different parameters and values which wouldn’t simply work in brightness contrast or saturation. You simply can’t copy keyframes from a different filter and paste it on the other filter.
I mean position keyframes getting pasted onto lets say mask position is still understandable, but getting it to work on color is purely asking a 200 year old grandpa to do a backflip :skull:

In short:-

NO

Edit:-
I saw the time thing you said just now, it still doesn’t make sense because you have to edit the values anyways later. However it should save some time if the keyframes are already there.

I on the middle in this one, I believe it is a good suggestion.

So, in short, you’re saying I can’t use the same Keyframes I made for SPR to the others I want? Some context on my video I’m making is a generic Game/Music edit and I’m wanting the other filters to be on the same timings as the SPR ones; such as brighter when the beat hits, more saturated, etc. What you’re saying, from what I understand, seems to be that I can’t do that and will have to trudge it until it finally gets done?

I might have overcomplicated it… But you’re right, you can’t use different keyframes on different things as far as I know with my knowledge (6 months old).

A saturation keyframe might not work on position.

This is not what you’re looking for, but as you didn’t mention presets, I thought I would give you this information as it may help you or others following this thread.

You can make a filter preset. I highly recommend labeling each preset with the video mode used.

Examples of what text is set for two presets, using just 2 keyframes at the same locations for both filters.

As you can see, each specific filter has a unique syntax that cannot be copy & pasted.

This would only be good if you intend to reuse the same preset repeatedly in each music video regardless of what the music does.

Here is a list of where each filter preset is located at:

Damn, alright then. Thanks for the help though!

This gave me more insight as to how the software works even after a little less than a year of using it monthly. I knew of the presets and have a few already used for other filters, and I know trying to use presets on my specific project would be more frustrating than helpful. Nonetheless, the images you provided helped a lot to clear things up more. This really sucks, but such is life. Thanks for the help!
