Newbie: Why doesn't my saved white balance filter work?

Just started using Shotcut a couple of days ago, and have very little video editing experience, so all I’m trying to do right now is trim, adjust brightness, and adjust white balance–and already I’ve hit a snag. My phone videos typically need the same adjustment to their white balance (at least in low light), so I set a WB filter’s values, then saved it. Seemed simple.
