Activity Log Errors

I’ve been having issues running shotcut recently, it could be a problem with my pc, nevertheless I have checked the activity long and have identified some possible errrors that may be causing the problem, please let me know what you think:

[Info ] plugin_mgr_get_object_file_plugins: error opening shared object file ‘C:\Users\pc123\Desktop\shotcut-win64-200711\Shotcut\lib\ladspa/AUTHORS’: “C:\Users\pc123\Desktop\shotcut-win64-200711\Shotcut\lib\ladspa\AUTHORS”: The specified module could not be found.

[Info ] plugin_mgr_get_object_file_plugins: error opening shared object file ‘C:\Users\pc123\Desktop\shotcut-win64-200711\Shotcut\lib\ladspa/COPYING’: “C:\Users\pc123\Desktop\shotcut-win64-200711\Shotcut\lib\ladspa\COPYING”: The specified module could not be found.

many thanks

This is a standard warning message from Shotcut. It does not signify an error. I have a Microsoft Surface Pro running Windows 10 that obviously does not have a Decklink capture card installed (see https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/products/decklink) and I also get that warning message.

thank you, so that rules that out, I have edited the original post since and noted some other possible errors, can you check those for me please?

Also these:

[Info ] plugin_mgr_get_object_file_plugins: error opening shared object file ‘C:\Users\pc123\Desktop\shotcut-win64-200711\Shotcut\lib\ladspa/readme.txt’: “C:\Users\pc123\Desktop\shotcut-win64-200711\Shotcut\lib\ladspa\readme.txt”:

And are these normal?

[Debug ] ShotcutSettings::log display method 16
[Debug ] ShotcutSettings::log GPU processing false

Also are these normal?

[Debug ] ShotcutSettings::log display method 16
[Debug ] ShotcutSettings::log GPU processing false

and these…

[Debug ] Mlt::GLWidget::initializeGL begin
[Info ] Mlt::GLWidget::initializeGL OpenGL vendor “Google Inc.”

and these:

[Info ] Mlt::GLWidget::initializeGL OpenGL renderer “ANGLE (Intel® HD Graphics 4000 Direct3D11 vs_5_0 ps_5_0)”
[Info ] Mlt::GLWidget::initializeGL OpenGL threaded? false

Many thanks

These messages are OK.

These too are OK. Also, I have the following in my log:

<Mlt::GLWidget::initializeGL> OpenGL vendor "Google Inc."
[Info   ] <Mlt::GLWidget::initializeGL> OpenGL renderer "ANGLE (Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 Direct3D11 vs_5_0 ps_5_0)"
[Info ] <Mlt::GLWidget::initializeGL> OpenGL threaded? false
[Info ] <Mlt::GLWidget::initializeGL> OpenGL ES? true
[Debug  ]

in the Settings menu my Display Method is set to “DirectX (Angle)”, if that helps.

These messages tell us you are using Display Method = DirectX and that the underlying GPU is Intel HD 4000. Even though it says DirectX, Shotcut still uses OpenGL< and ANGLE (a project started by Google for usage of WebGL in Chrome) translates the OpenGL to Direct3D.

Cheers Elisien, thanks for cross examining this. I have no idea why I cannot get shotcut to work anymore.

Have you tried re-installing and ticking the box that says to clear all the registry entries? That usually works for me.

Yeahh, thats a good tip and doing so allows me to open the program when it otherwise cannot, or has crashing issues. However everying appears to be in working order except videos display no picture, which is pretty important when trying to edit video :sweat_smile:
