I just found Youtube doesn’t allow uploading thumbnail for shorts from desktop. So, I asked ChatGPT and it said that you can do it using Shotcut. But, the instruction is about just how to make thumbnail in Shotcut. So, I’m wondering if it’s possible to show my custom thumbnail for Youtube shorts with Shotcut.

We don’t know how your question to ChatGPT was worded but Shotcut can only make a thumbnail for YT. It can’t make YT accept the thumbnail for shorts if that’s not YT’s intention/policy (by design).
If you read that YT doesn’t allow for thumbnails for shorts on desktop one has to assume chatgpt interpreted as best it could from the question being asked.
