Wrong font colour in Shot cut

I’m relatively new to Shotcut. Recently I ran into an issue for which there doesn’t seem to be an obvious resolution.

For the opening credits of a movie I used a black background for text (RGBA: 0,0,0,255) and white for the font (RGBA: 255,255,255,255). Yet, the font comes out as grey. (See the attached screenshot.)

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?!

Your playhead is in the middle of fade to and from black.
