Will Shotcut accept .AVI format clips

I may buy a camera which produces files with the .AVI extension.

Will Shotcut wil accept this type of file ?

Obviously I usually export my finished videos in the .MP4 format.

It should be able to accept them. Did you try?

I just downloaded an AVI clip from here: https://www.appsloveworld.com/avi-video-clips-free-download/. I then opened it in shotcut and exported the first 10 seconds to an MP4 file. It worked perfectly.
