Not really a warning, rather a way to convert your source video into something that can be easily edited with Shotcut.
Your video is most likely variable frame rate video, commonly produced by cell phones.
You can choose to convert it, or not. If you don’t convert it, you may experience issues that you may not care for.
Your source video will not be touched, rather a new video file is made from it depending upon the quality you decide you want. This new video file will work extremely well with Shotcut as it’s converted to a constant frame rate.
