Because of the frame rate of the project, and you cannot set the start time between frames. Each frame has a fixed duration and start time.
Aw man 
Well is there ANY way to make them start at the same point? That would be VERY important right now.
If you move the playhead where you want (double click on the correct clip) then the next files you drag will “snap” exactly to the playhead if you are close enough.
