Why Big Difference in Size for Shotcut v18.03 Port 32 Bit and 64 Bit?

Hi,

Just downloaded Shotcut v18.03 and was very surprised by the big difference in size of the 32 Bit (303M) and 64 Bit (929M).

Also has anyone tested v18.03 32 Bit and 64 Bit on older P4 64 Bit CPUs with 2 GB RAM as to which is faster?

It looks like it’s an issue with the .dll files, 64 bit applications are usually larger by a bit but not usually to this extreme. Regarding the performance on the penitum 4 I’d say use the 64 bit version but 2GB of ram is tight, is there a reason you’re editing video on such a relic?

64-bit binaries are much larger on Windows. It’s as simple as that. Of course, there are memory limitations of the 32-bit. It can only use 3 GB RAM.
