Hi, I have just downloaded shotcut onto my Imac and the timeline is white? When a file is loaded the timeline stays white? The preview is fine but theres nothing on the timeline, Its just… white. Any help is appreciated.
That means it is incompatible. I do not think there is anything you or I can do about it. That part of the technology is not written by us. Which version did you download, and which OS version?

Ah man! Im using OS Sanoma 14.6.1
I love shotcut. Really dont wanna have to start again with another editer.

It might be incompatible with versions of Shotcut from past couple of years. I have a few macs from many years, and it works on all of them. I do not know how old your iMac is (that info along with the version of Shotcut you are trying can help). The download page says this:
Important: If you have a Mac that is from 2013 or earlier you might experience a video preview color problem due to our migration to Apple Metal. In that case, use version 22.12.21.
So, you might try this older version if you have an old iMac.
