If you could lock the vertical motion of a clip while dragging horizontally, by holding a custom key, this would prevent accidental overwrite to an existing clip on an adjacent track. This is a reoccurring issue because fine mouse adjustments may result in an arc path of the selected clip. This problem appears while adjusting clip positions for a multi-track project.
