What's best way to remove many video/image clips from a track?

First determine the length of the section of clips you want to delete. Use the play head on the timeline to get a start point and then an end point. Say 4 minutes.

Open a color clip . Set the duration to 3 min 30 sec. copy it . Place the play head on the timeline where you want to start deleting. Press b to overwrite. The color clip will overwrite all the clips to the right leaving one long to clip to delete.

I actually had to do this on several occasions.
