Video stuttering

Hello everyone,

I’ve been using Shotcut for a while now, and I’ve never experienced so much stuttering in my videos as I have recently.
I have gaming videos mainly recorded via OBS in 1440p 60 fps on my graphics card’s AV1 encoder.
I used to use CBR (30,000 Kbps), but I recently switched to CBS (18).

I have a pretty solid setup: Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 64 GB RAM 4200 MHz, and 7900XT.

I don’t use proxies; I’ve never needed to, but now all my recent videos are systematically stuttering.
I tried overview at 360p but issue is the same

Do you have any ideas?

Thanks

This is the answer to your question.
1440p 60 fps AV1, this is a serious load on the video editor, which does not have an hardware acceleration of timeline playback. There are only two ways to reduce the amount of stuttering, either convert video files to formats convenient for editing, or use a proxy.

Preview scaling without proxy often gives it more work: it must scale down after decoding.
