Hello,
Downloaded and installed recent new “Shotcut” version 26.1.30.
Imported video file into playlist, and to the timeline.
Started to play the video to make some editing.
Every few seconds playhead mometarily stopped, started to move, stopped again, then program crashed.
Tried all over again, and after several seconds crashed again. Tried for the third time and program crashed.
Well, gone back to previous version, loaded same video, playhead runs smoothly.
So now I use the previous version. (25.12.31).
In both versions did not make any changes in settings.
File is MP4, size 1,462,801 kb, 720 x 1280, Data Rate 692 kbps.
OS is windows 10 pro, version 19045.6456, 22H2 x 64.
I wonder if there is some bug in the program’s new version.
Answers will be appreciated.
Please forgive me if I post this to the wrong category.
Thanks
Motim
Turn off Settings > Preview Scaling > Use Hardware Decoder. It seems it might not be working on your system. That is new in the version and defaults on.
Hello,
Thanks for the answer.
Did as instructed in your answer. Imported the video file into the playlist.
From the playlist dragged the file to the timeline,
not even started the ‘play’, program crashed.
Again, in the settings as instructed, selected the preview to 540p (Hardware decorder off), program crashed.
So now I use the “Shotcut” previous version.
Thanks again.

Hello,
For your information:
Downloaded and installed the Beta version 26.2.16.
Imported that large video file (mentioned above) to the playlist and to the timeline.
Started editing and play that video.
So far program stays working.
Did not check any other thing.
Thanks
Motim
