Various Feature Suggestions

Hello,

Just wanted to offer a few suggestions for consideration:

  1. Support for OpenEXR image formats, especially Multilayer EXR. (Is this “linear color processing” in roadmap?)
  2. Regarding roadmap item “audio mixer console (one strip per track plus master)”, the ability to also create audio buses and route multiple tracks to it.
  3. Lens Flare effect

Since I would not like to simply create new posts, I would like to some features I would love in ShotCut,

  1. Motion blur. We have various different blur options, but no motion blur yet. I’m thinking it could be derived from the Trails effect, except with a bit more processing.
  2. Grouped/Composite clips. A way to put many clips into one clip. This could be derived from bit of existing code, considering the fact that we can already apply effects to the entire timeline. (Not a good example)
  3. Slightly modern UI. The current UI is good, but it doesn’t feel really modern. This doesn’t have to be forced onto the user but can be a setting.

Lens flare is also a feature I would love to see in ShotCut,
Thank you ShotCut devs for all the work you have done onto the editor so far. This is probably the most user friendly editing software that is also really capable.
