unable to open project or create new project, can't even type in the name

What is your operating system?
A chromebook that can run debian based linux, I installed it through the terminal through the command “sudo apt install shotcut”

What is your Shotcut version
22.12.22

Can you repeat the problem? If so, what are the steps?
problem occures every time I open the application, i am unable to enter a project, nor am i able to create a new one. Problem did not occur until about 6 months ago. I am unable to do any of the functions of the program.

Your version is very old (from 2022) and not built by us. The developers will not be able to help you with that. You can try a newer version from our download page.

You can also try anything else except what you showed. For example, use File > Open to open a media or project file. But it looks like maybe Qt libraries installed through Debian are messed up on your system.
