Trim Out Point (O) twice extends a blank clip about 4 minutes and 10 seconds

Executing two keyboard shortcut Trim Out Point (O) commands consecutively when the playhead is on a blank clip on a single track extends the said blank clip about 4 minutes and 10 seconds.
A subsequent execution of the same shortcut command (O) farther expands the same clip an additional 4 minutes and 10 seconds.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch Shotcut.

  2. Use Generate on the toolbar to add two color clips of any color on the Timeline.

  3. Drag the second clip to the right to create a gap (a blank clip) between the two color clips.

  4. Move the playhead somewhere between the two color clips. In other words, on the blank clip.
    Before pressing O twice

  5. Press O on the keyboard twice.
    After pressing O twice

The same bug can be observed if I use regular video clips on a video track or audio clips on an audio track, so I’m pretty sure it’s unrelated to the media I’m using.

Fixing this may or may not fix the bug reported here

because the video posted in the thread looks like the shortcut (O) is expanding something around 4 minutes, although in his case it’s a video clip and in my case it’s a blank clip.

Tested with Shotcut 26.04.30 on Windows 11.

Just to be clear, @TRA , my clip was actually a JPG image, not a video clip. But I see the principle of your bug report and hope it may be fixed. If anyone can, the brilliant @shotcut can!
