Transitions don't work with grouped segments

As described in Jump to next cut doesn't work after the 1 hour mark and multiple selected segments, I had to cut out part of a scene from a compilation after completing the cut, so I had to group the rest of the segments to move them all to the left at once. Unfortunately it isn’t possible to create a new transition between the ungrouped segments to the left and the group to the right. I’d have to ungroup the 50+ segments (including transitions) and start the process all over again several times. This is quite cumbersome.

It is possible:

  • turn on Ripple
  • Click the group to select it
  • Ctrl click the left-most clip in the group–the second clip in the transition–and drag it left to create the transition

Alternatively, if the group is not yet selected use Alt to select an individual member of a group as documented in the release notes for that feature:
