The different video filter such as blur, sketch, wave, size and position, rotate and scale, saturation etc. filter can be use to create dynamic transition. Shotcut keyframe feature is really good to create cool transition. I tried to create simple transition with Keyframable video filter.

Nice demo 
The effect you used where you zoomed into one image then back out on the next works really well if you combine it with the blur filter too. Try it - it looks great 
I also tried with blur filter. It’s good to have x and y width but can not achive smooth blur. When I resize the image to a smaller , the blur filter drop some shadow effect which is not desirable. Having keyframe to more video filter easy to create different transition effect.
