For a slideshow I want to use a mix of “drag-across” transitions (on same track) and cross-over transitions with slides on separate tracks. I like the variety of transitions available in the “drag-over” transitions, but I don’t like the hassle it creates when I want to later edit the duration of the transition (keeping the whole show in sync with the audio). Keeping slides on separate tracks give me more flexibility (esp. when using size, position & rotate with keyframes) but I’m missing the varieties of transitions available only in “drag-over”.
Is there a way to obtain such transitions for clips on separate tracks (bar, iris, diagonal, …) ?

Use Mask: From File > File and then keyframe the Threshold from between 0 and 100%.
