Really imaginative use of effects!! Very well done, @Galipe, its brisk pace kept the viewers attention throughout!
Just one very small point (quite pedantic) - I think the term “musicians” in your description should really be “composers” (?) …
Indeed, I could have used the term composer rather than musicians, it would correspond better to the modern French language. However in the Middle Ages in “langue d’oil” (ancestor of the French language) and language of the English court there was no distinction between musicians and composer …
Thank you for the nice comment on editing, and the use of effects.
I am happy that an English-speaking viewer may have been interested in such a regional theme as music in the 13th and 14th centuries in Champagne Ardenne.
Ah, very good point, @Galipe . Yes, it makes sense - in those days the musicians were indeed composers as well…
I am!! I’m deeply interested in all types and genres of music - good job, that, since I’m a music teacher by profession
40 years ago I studied the music of Guillaume de Machaut briefly at university - although we didn’t have the luxury of being able to see live performances on Youtube!!
Your video inspired me to dust off my copy of A History of Western Music by Donald Jay Grout. I know It’s a bit off-topic for this forum, but I scanned in a few pages about Trouvieres. I suspect you know all this information anyway but I’ve attached the .pdf file. Fascinating stuff!! Thanks for re-kindling my interest! A History Of Western Music GROUT - Trouvieres Troubadours.pdf (1.0 MB)
A big thank you for the pdf. I’m going to take some time to read it because I do not speak English well.
A precision the langue d’oc and the language of oy were not geographically established languages but linguistic continuums so that at 100 leagues of distances one could not understand each other.
I am an amateur songwriter musician, I like you a great curiosity of music even if my tastes are oriented jazz and blues.
I play ukulele and harmonica sometimes, it’s me who plays on the videos that I present.
