Track an blur a face that comes in from the side and adjust size of blurred area

Hello all,
I tried to find the solution myself but nothing explained it.
I have a video where my children are shown and I want to blur their faces, sometimes the face comes in form the side, so I have to adjust size and position of the blurred area. Motion tracking does not work because I cannot pull the area for it over the edge of the video, or I could not make it work.

I would appreciate any help, links, blog posts etc.

sometimes the face comes in form the side

One thing you could do is split the part of the clip where the face comes into the frame and apply the blur and tracking manually. For the rest, where the face in completely IN the frame, use the Motion Tracker.
