Tips on optimizing the rendering?

Has this been discussed enough on tips on how to improve rendering time ?

Iknow there is parallel processing ( asked where it was before here lol )

but what about video encoders ?

would you recommend a specific one, a broad one given the needs?

suppose you have no gpu ( like myself ), you are on linux or windows, linux can use vaapi not mistaken. are there any other configurations you use to speed up te process:?

Also what filters you avoid as they are rendering resources consuming: or combinations you try to avoid ( I avoid music visualizer waveform + another visual filter applied onit ) for example as it led my 1 hour image+music video to 10 hour rendering time.

Any tips that are technical or non technical ( experience ) that you want to share ? Appreciate it

Really like this software

Blurring and Outline are filters with heavy cpu usage in my experience. Also Vignette can be demanding. But for me best practice is: Start rendering job and go to bed

zoom-in-out with keyframes on images or moving images around add quite some rendering time, long fading transition length as well, especially while zooming.
Using the GPU does a great cut in rendering time on my side.
But I never had a 1 hour image+ speech rendered in 10 hour, I thing the longest rendering time for 1 hour image with zoom and keyframes was 3 and 1/2 hour using CPU only, in 1080p, I don’t have a 4k screen, so I don’t do 4k…
