Hello,
I’m just starting with Shotcut. My problem: I’m pulling the track into the timeline. I only see the audio track, the video track with view does not appear. In the user manual and in the different Youtube instruction videos you can see the video in the timeline. With me, there’s a continuous blue surface.
Is there a setting that the video can be displayed in the timeline?
Many thanks for your reply and best regards
Emma
When you have a problem such as this it is always best to download to the post a screenshot of the whole Shotcut window, using the symbol above that looks like an arrow pointing upwards. That way people don’t have to guess what it looks like.
Is your file definitely a video file and not an audio one, as it should automatically appear in V1, not A1?
Emma, Everything is as it should be. The blue area is your video clip . The clip is 1 hour 58 minutes long but the timeline is zoomed in so you only see the first 25 seconds of it. The video part is on track V1 and the audio is on A1.
The player area is where you see the frame that is under the timeline’s playhead (in your screenshot the 16th frame in the 3rd second of the video clip).
If you click on the blue clip you can add filters to it, or you could click on it to select it and hit “Properties” to see various details about it. You can position the playhead and split the clip and then manipulate just that part of the clip.
Thank you for your support. I was able to show the track. I started with the user manual in German, but there is no description of this function.
Thanks also for the link about videos to Shotcut, these are very helpful.
