Thumbnails in timeline and transitions preview

Hello,
I would like to send you a wish list to see in Shotcut:

  1. Thumbnail (picture) at the beginning of a video in the timeline. (Or is it in the program and I missed something).
  2. Preview transitions.
Both above I have seen in some video editing / slideshow makers programs.
    Thanks
    Motim

Shotcut version 21.12.21 on win 10, 20H2.

  1. Thumbnail already exists unless you are talking about something different: Timeline > menu > Options > Show Video Thumbnails. They are also hidden if the track height is at its shortest because there is basically no room - or at least not enough to be useful.

Hello,
Thanks for the answer.
That’s what I had in mind, I did not know about this option. In other video editing
programs I saw, the thumbnail is high as the timeline.
Looks like I have to try all sub-menus and see what they do.
And about the transitions preview ?
Thanks
Motim

Excuse me, but where is there?
There is no an “options” one in timeline hamburgere menu.

This discussion is 4 years old.
A few things have changed.

To enable/disable Thumbnails, go to Settings > Timeline

Need to find the same discussion that is less than four years old? :slightly_smiling_face:

“Yes it’s”)

preview is only available at the beginning and end of the timeline. Often not convenient.

For example, as done in Davinci Resolve:

There is no option to display thumbnails across the length of a clip or previews across the length of the Timeline in Shotcut.

That’s not a problem. I really like this program. It is freely distributed. OpenSource.
