The "merge" option is greyed out

I’m trying to merge these two cut parts. The “merge” option is still greyed out even though those cut parts of the video. Can someone help?

Certainly the following clip does not meet the conditions for merging

Clips- merge with next clip has disappeared

This function only appears when the two clips are from contiguous sections from the same source file. This means the end of clip A with frame number X must be followed by clip with frame number X+1 where A and B are the same file.

But they are from the same file.

Merge clip is used if you split a clip and realize you made a mistake and want to bring it back. The clip needs to literally start on the next frame to be mergable.
