I just want to thank all developers of Shotcut, members of the forum and all involved in providing such a great video editor.
I came to test many free and paid video editor solutions over the years but Shotcut is the best for me - especially on Linux.
This program is the only one that does everything right. Keep up the good work.
I especially appreciate that you provide an appimage, the total control of the diverse export settings and that (for me) Shotcut runs without flaws with a minimal system footprint. Your usage and management of system resources, for me, are unrivaled compared to the many other solutions I used before.
I also want to thank the developers. It is convenient and fast to do the work that I would spend more time on in other editors. And most importantly, it is very stable, unlike some other video editors, I appreciate it! It crashed very rarely for me. Thank you for this software, and thank you for developing it!
Like others here, I love that Shotcut runs very well on modest hardware with a Linux AppImage. With proxy, preview scaling, and granular export control, I can quickly get excellent results on an inexpensive i7-4770 from 10 years ago with only an integrated GPU. Meanwhile, the commercial setups cost thousands of dollars between hardware and software, and still do not provide the advanced export options we get with Shotcut. I plan to keep using Shotcut for a long time!
I’ve tried several video editing programs. Most of them failed because they made simple things complicated. Shotcut, on the other hand, can do relatively complicated things simply. Thanks to the developers!
