Text Fade In on existing image

Using “text fade” in this forum’s search comes up empty.

To get the word “Introduction” to fade in on top of my “Video Memories” PNG template, I created a separate PNG that contained only the word “Introduction” on a transparent background. I then created two tracks. And faded-in the Introduction.png visual. It works. Is that the best way? I

That’s one way of doing it. There really is no best way, just many different ways.
Another way is to use
image
to create a transparent clip with text. Overlay that on a track, use the fades to fade the text.

Also, if you want to get fancy use the Text HTML overlays for text.
