The text box doesn’t disappear after I add text. It is visible on the video. This has happened when adding text to a video clip and adding an intro screen. What am I doing wrong?
Adding that I do have the latest version of Shotcut.
It is visible in the Preview (Project) panel because your Text clip is selected. You will not see it after you export your video.
Select the Text filter and press the small X icon immediately above the “Preset” button of the filter. The VUI (Visual User Interface) will disappear.

Thank you! That did it. Not sure exactly what I just did, but will bookmark this to remember…
Pressing the “X” just de-selects (not deletes) the filter.
