Hi, I am a new shortcut user. Trying to edit old home movies of my kids growing up. Got one that is now 1hr long and saved it as a mlt file. Now went to export it using default mode (I want to save it onto a USB stick and play it on my smart TV. It is taking almost 4 hours. Is that normal?

It depends on how fast your computer is, but yes it is possible that it can take that long

Yes, esp. when you did some editing and used some filters. There a filters which can take even 10xtimes the video length and even more. If you do just cuts (delete, concatenate) it would be much faster.
