When I make changes to the export parameters, only a file name without an extension is suggested.
Format is mp4, and I expect a filename “project.mp4” instead of just “project”.

I noticed that this is the case with all but custom profiles. When I export it says save as determined by export, but I don’t know where I should specifically define that - I have defined format .mp4 in export settings.
That’s my point. For user-defined I have to enter the file extension. Why isn’t the format from the export window applied?
You didn’t read the thread - the link that I posted? Please read it, you will get the answer.
Are you talking about having a custom preset?
Or entering in Advance and selecting a different Codec?
You have these 2 lines in your preset settings and it still doesn’t show you the .mp4 extension? (the one that appears when you click on + after changing a default preset, you can also find the preset file on your disk and edit it with notepad to add them)
f=mp4
meta.preset.extension=mp4
I’m talking about having a custom preset.
vpre=medium
preset=medium
vprofile=high
movflags=+faststart
f=mp4
acodec=aac
channels=2
ar=48000
ab=256k
vcodec=libx264
crf=23
g=125
bf=3
width=720
height=576
aspect=1.33333
progressive=0
top_field_first=1
deinterlace_method=yadif
rescale=hyper
frame_rate_num=25000000
frame_rate_den=1000000
threads=0
But I didn’t fill the field:
I’m doing that now:
It works. Thank you very much.
This change was made for the next version per original request: suggest an extension when format changes or not saved with custom preset.
