Scrolling suddenly went bad. Moving the scroll bar became jerky and delayed. Mouse wheel the same. Rebooted 3 times and same thing. Started a new, tiny file to test, same thing. Rest of system (other software) works fine. What happened and how to fix?

Everything was A-OK, so very puzzled (and frustrated). Turned on proxy but no difference.
Check the battery in your mouse.
Excellent suggestion! But a fresh battery did not make a difference.
Went back to ver. 23.05.14. Works fine in that slightly older version. So I’m running OK again, but what happened to 06? Especially if I didn’t do anything! Thank you very much though, I appreciate your time.
There was a performance improvement made for timeline in version 23.05 that improved the simple case of scrolling and lower memory. But it had some very negative performance decreases in other use cases such that it had to be removed in version 23.06 due to numerous complaints. We cannot make everyone happy all the time.
ended up fine re-updating to latest, but weird! Keep up your excellent work.
